Our Standard Installation Process

  • Remove 9 to 12 inches of your concrete floor adjoining your basement walls
  • Excavate and pitch trench to the bottom of the footer to expose top and sides (never below the footer)
  • Install sump pump (where required by local building codes)
  • Install 18-inch circumference by 30-inch deep perforated crock
  • Install 1/3 horsepower submersible cast-iron motor
  • Install 1.5-inch PVC discharge line with check valve
  • Connect discharge line to outside drain source (downspout, storm sewer, natural watershed — no traps necessary, all drainage is by gravity)
  • Line trench bottom with washed limestone for bedding and filter for drain tile
  • Install 3-inch drain tile in the trench next to the footing, allowing the pitch of 1/4-inch per 10-foot length
  • Cover drain tile with #6 washed limestone as a filter
  • Install wall drainage system and vapor barrier. This varies depending upon what the wall structure is built with
  • Cover drainage system with concrete (curing can take up to 30 to 45 days)
  • Electrical outlet for new sump pump system must be installed by a licensed electrician

"These folks installed our B-Dry system back in 2003. It's some of the best money we've spent on our house, as the basement has been dry ever since. After almost 14 years, the sump pump (rated life expectancy around 5 years) began to act up. They came out the same day, replaced the pump, and even included a stamped, self-addressed envelope with the bill, something I haven't seen in years."
